Canadian Dental Association Announces New CEO and Executive Director

  Since 1993, James Frizzell, DDS, has owned and operated Frizzell Family Dental in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Dr. James Frizzell works with four on-staff dental hygienists at his Niagara Falls office. He also maintains membership with the Ontario Dental Association (ODA).

Established in 1866, the ODA promotes high standards of dental care, promotes personal growth within the industry, and advocates for its members. Today the organization consists of over 8,600 dentists. According to the organization, nine out of 10 dentists in Ontario are members of the ODA.

In January 2016, the ODA announced that Frank Bevilacqua became the organization’s chief executive officer and executive director. He brings with him 25 years of experience helping the ODA, most recently as the director of professional, government, and component society affairs. In that role, he worked on behalf of the ODA and helped convince the government to keep dental and health plans tax-exempt. A graduate of the University of Manitoba and Queen’s University, Bevilacqua also oversaw the ODA’s program providing first-world countries with dental supplies. His appointment to the new position became effective February 1, 2016.
